With a career spanning over 40 years, Chris has been instrumental in the design, development, and delivery of high-performance vertical transportation systems across a broad range of building sectors — including commercial, residential, healthcare, aviation, and public infrastructure.
A long-serving former Director at Dunbar & Boardman, Chris has played a foundational role in establishing the company’s reputation for engineering precision and client-centric design. His approach combines deep technical knowledge with a practical understanding of building operations and user experience, making him a valued voice in early-stage planning, peer review, and strategic design advisory.

Hamish McGlashan, one of the most respected veterans in the vertical transportation industry, has been appointed to the Dunbar & Boardman Advisory Council.
With over four decades of experience in vertical transportation consultancy, Hamish brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge in planning, designing, and delivering lift systems across some of the most iconic and complex developments in the UK, the Middle East, and beyond. With extensive international experience, Hamish contributes to the review of tender specifications, peer evaluation of traffic analysis reports, and provides strategic input on complex tower projects. He also participates in technical discussions with clients and architects to align vertical transportation solutions with project goals.
A former Director at Dunbar & Boardman, Hamish played a pivotal role in shaping the consultancy’s technical reputation and mentoring a generation of engineers. His career has spanned across high-rise towers, mixed-use developments, luxury hospitality, and infrastructure projects, always rooted in precision, performance, and client trust.
